چکیده
The oxy-acetylene torch brazing of copper tubes using silver-based filler metals (Ag-Cu-Zn-Cd) was investigated in this study. Filler containing silver content 15% and 35%, designated by BR15 BR35, were used to assess the influence microstructure mechanical performance brazed joints. joints analyzed means optical microscopy, scanning electron energy-dispersive spectroscopy. microstructures BR35 samples composed mainly Ag–Cd-rich phase, solid solution Cu–Zn, a eutectic structure Ag Cu. increase changed solidification mode from cellular dendritic caused an phase volume fraction. tensile strength Ag–Cu–Zn–Cd phos–copper compared. metal slightly higher than

The Microstructural Evolution of Vacuum Brazed 1Cr18Ni9Ti Using Various Filler Metals
The microstructures and weldability of a brazed joint of 1Cr18Ni9Ti austenitic stainless steel with BNi-2, BNi82CrSiBFe and BMn50NiCuCrCo filler metals in vacuum were investigated. It can be observed that an interdiffusion region existed between the filler metal and the base metal for the brazed joint of Ni-based filler metals. The width of the interdiffusion region was about 10 μm, and the mic...
متن کاملVacuum Brazing of Zirconium-Based Alloy and 321 Stainless Steel Using Titanium Based Filler Metal
Both Zirconium-based alloys and 321stainless steel are widely used as engineering alloys due to their good mechanical properties. Conventional fusion welding techniques for Zr alloys and stainless steel are not feasible due to the formation of brittle intermetallic compounds such as (Zr3Fe, ZrFe2 and Zr2Fe) and corrosion cracking. Brazing is one of the most wide...
متن کاملAn investigation on metallurgical and mechanical properties of vacuum brazed Ti-6Al-4V to 316L stainless steel using Zr-based filler metal
Both Ti-6Al-4V and 316L stainless steels are widely used as engineering alloys. Fusion welding of these two alloys is not easily possible due to their incomplete solubility in each other. Brazing is one of the best choices for joining dissimilar alloys. In this study, wettability experiments were done at 940 and 970 ºC for 5, 15 and 30 min. Also, joining of these two alloys was carried out at 9...
متن کاملEvolution of Microstructure in Brazed Joints of Austenitic-Martensitic Stainless Steel with Pure Silver Obtained with Ag-27Cu-5Sn Brazing Filler Material
Brazing of an austenitic-martensitic stainless steel (AMSS) with pure silver was carried out at 1053 K, 1073 K, and 1093 K (780 C, 800 C, and 820 C) with Ag-27Cu-5Sn (wt pct) as brazing filler material (BFM). Wettability of the liquid BFM over base AMSS surface was found to be poor. Application of nickel coating to the steel was observed to enhance the wettability and to enable the formation of...
متن کاملOn-line Detection of Imperfections in Laser-brazed Joints
This paper presents a joint imperfection detection method for on-line process monitoring of laser brazing processes. The method uses images from two spectral ranges and fuses their features with the scores of the separately calculated log-likelihood ratios to decide whether the currently generated part of a joint contains an imperfection or not. To avoid unconfident classifications, a decision ...
